 Totally depends on the dog, how secure he is and if he also loves the people you left him with. If he is having fun and enjoying the new situation he is in, he will miss his owners about as much as a very secure kid misses his/her parents when he/she goes off to camp or to visit his cousins for a week. In other words, he will think fondly of them but enjoy his vacation. If the dog is staying in a boarding kennel or home where he is not given personal attention then he will be missing his home and owners a lot. He will be very safe but lonely unless the kennel has playdates, etc.
