The worst part is I know that. I’ve known that for years. I KNOW I’ve known that for years. Yet as soon as I posted it I got a fiver out of my wallet and fucking double checked! Have I become that cynical that anything I see on Reddit I disbelieve, even if I myself wrote it??? I’ll say in this specific case I also always have to re-rationalize what currency actually is, especially with bank notes because it seems like some super secret Illuminati shit when you first hear it like you just uncovered a massive conspiracy.

At least in Germany, you’re not allowed to modify the passport in any way I believe. Ew people shirt. I guess if it’s just somehow fastened in there and plays every time it’s no problem, you just can’t cut or glue anything. I think this is standard. At least the way it works in the UK, passports aren’t legally your property; they’re government documents that you use. I presume that’s the case everywhere. Right, same as me, I always think “yeah, everyone has a crazy passport to show off their country” but no…It’s just us silly Americans being ridiculous
